The Challenge

The Welsh immersion programme were looking for a solution to help the learners practise their skills and in an immersive role playing environment, that ties in with the current curriculum.

The solution

The development of a virtual reality application for Welsh learners, which is designed for children to help them improve and build confidence with using and speaking welsh. This pilot project takes traditional learning into a virtual space allowing children new to the language to learn and practise their skills in real life scenarios. Using multiple choice questions, children can navigate through the imaginary town Aberwla, learning and interacting with each other. Up to 30 people can enter the space, with their own digital avatar, to practise their language skills in a fun and interactive way.
I had no idea on where ‘this journey’ would have led me to, but with Animated Technologies as a guiding hand, the journey and vision has finally come to fruition! I would have no hesitation at all in recommending both AT to anyone, who has an ’intangible’ idea or concept that they wish to turn into visual reality!

I was recommended Animated Technology by Mark McGowan as I looked to develop short animation to explain our process at a high level to attract new customers and potential investors. Animated Technologies found the perfect balance of detail in our video which has already started to generate the interest we had hoped for. They were incredibly professional and easy to work with remotely which was essential during these difficult times. They guided me through the process and required little input from me during the design process once the initial scope had been agreed which was great. I also thought what they were able to produce with my modest budget was exceptional.
